One of 150. A bronze medal issued by The Rowfant Club in 1959, in memory of the English book collector and poet, Frederick Locker-Lampson; [1821-95], whose book collection at his Rowfant Estate, helped inspire the name of the Rowfant Club. Designed by Cleveland, Ohio artist and member of The Rowfant Club, George Adomeit. From the Leland Schubert Bibliography: "Medal. Frederick Locker Medal, 1959. Obverse: "Frederick Locker The Rowfant Club Cleveland Ohio"; in low relief, the bust of Frederick Locker and dates 1821 and 1895. Reverse: the Locker Jester bookplate, designed by Stacy Marks [1829-98], which appeared on the title page of Locker's Patchwork. Diameter, 3 inches; thickness of rim, 3/16 inch. Boxed. Designed by Rowfanter George G.[ustav] Adomeit [1879-1967] and cast in bronze by Joe Motto in Florence, Italy. One hundred and fifty copies." -Pp. 44. The 4 1/4 inch x 4 1/4 in. case is covered with dark blue, textured paper. The interior is lined with cream white satin on the top, and with dark blue velvet on the bottom, with a recess to hold the medal. With a brass lock on the front edge. The lock has slightly loosened, and there is an abraded spot from a removed number label on the lid of the case. Seller Inventory # ABE-11756942477
