Publication Date: 1897
Book Condition: Near Fine
Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket
Edition: 1st Edition
This is a completely unique copy of this seminal work of California and Catholic history. So far as I've been able to determine, it is the only leather-bound copy in existence, having been rebound in high quality leather and blue buckram with gold lettering and accents at some point in the past. This is the original edition, as published and printed by the Holy Childhood Indian School in Harbor Springs, Michigan. The pages of the book are completely clean and unmarked, very lightly tanned, and completely free of water damage. There is a 1-inch closed edge tear on the title page. The front cover and spine are spotless. The back cover has some faint but visible spots on the blue buckram portion. None of the corners are bumped and there is just light rub wear to the lower edges of the spine and covers. A beautiful and altogether remarkable copy of this important work of frontier and religious history. Will be bubble-wrapped to protect the corners and shipped in a box. Bookseller Inventory # ABH171
