150 p. Ottimo esemplare con lievi segni di usura. Le pagine sono ingiallite, ma pulite. Sehr gutes Exemplar mit leichten Gebrauchsspuren. Die Seiten sind gebräunt, aber sauber. - - "ULTIMO discendente di un casato illustre, il marchese Vittorio Emanuele Taparelli d'Azeglio (Torino, 1816 - Roma, 1890), pur avendo abbracciato giovanissimo la carriera diplomatica, che lo condusse via via a Monaco, a Vienna, all'Aia, a Bruxelles, a Pietroburgo, coltivò assiduamente quel gusto colto per le cose dell'arte, che il padre Roberto e lo zio Massimo gli avevano ispirato, e venne adunando con zelo la collezione preziosa, che nel 1875 avrebbe poi donato con munifico gesto al Museo Civico della sua città natale. Specialmente propizio alle acquisizioni ragguar-devoli fu per lui il ventennio 1848-1868 - gravido di così decisivi eventi per il nostro Paese - durante il quale egli resse l'ambasciata di Londra: tra gli altri fortunati acquisti poté allora annoverare, ai primi del 1860, quello di un minuscolo, raffinato codicetto sforzesco, che il signor Farrer di Londra aveva scoperto a Colonia gran tempo addietro, esercitando poi una ventennale pazienza prima di riuscire ad acquistarlo. In Germania il manoscritto doveva aver fatto una lunga sosta, se sono di mano tedesca cinquecentesca, come par certo, le nove righe di scrittura gotica corsiva vergate in calce all'ultima facciata con un inchiostro così pallido e scolo-rito dal tempo, che neppure i raggi ultravioletti riescono a rendere deci-frabile il senso della deturpante, ma forse significativa postilla."
