Print on Demand. This book presents 4th year students with a roadmap for the academic year, grounded in a child's powers, interests, and future. The author has class-tested each lesson in this guide, designed to not only teach but engage students through activities and hands-on projects. The goal is to prepare children for the collaborative work environment of the future, making lessons as active and cooperative as possible. This guide situates lessons within the larger context of history, literature, geography, and arithmetic, learning how to apply concepts from one discipline to another. By situating the curriculum around a farm setting, the author connects lessons to real-world experiences and helps students understand how skills can be applied in their own lives. This approach fosters a love for learning by connecting abstract ideas to tangible experiences. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

The Fourth School Year, like its predecessors in the series, is in no sense or degree a compilation. Much labor has been expended to put into shape a year's work, not such as might have been used in the schoolroom, but such, in substance, as has been used. The author has carefully tested, in classes under her own observation or instruction, the lesson-material here presented.
