12mo, unpaginated (1pp. of text, plus 8 plates with tissue guards). A very good copy in the publisher's green rough-grain boards, elaborately tooled in gilt. Gutter partially split in one place, but still a sound, intact copy. Very minor edgewear. Contemporary gift inscription on a front blank ("cadeau de Francois"). A scarce little curio from a high-end French dealer in furs, from the Belle Epoque period. The brief text simply introduces the illustrations, which depict eight noble women of French history, bedecked in elaborate royal fur clothing (those pictured: Hermengarde, Jacqueline de la Grange, Agn�s Sorel, Marie d'Anjou, Marie de Hainaut, L�onore d'Autriche, la Duchesse du Maine, Madame de Maintenon). A kind of high-end, very subtle advertisement for the firm. OCLC locates just two copies, at the BnF and the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.
