The Four Trees is a kid friendly novella that demonstrates the undeniable relationship between man and nature, with connections to Christianity. The author personifies a forest while highlighting the basic elements of life; the technique not only draws in the intended audience but also sends the reader on a journey through family strength and love, children will learn the importance of trusting one another and grownup will learn to give children room to grow by letting the sun hit their face and the water hit their leaves so they can grow strong and become trees, truly a great read for the family!
Review:
A simple story that addresses love, independence, and growth. This is an easy read for both parents and children. The book is an excellent illustration of flexibility, self-expression, and courage. Of equal importance, a good read to help parents provide opportunities for children to develop skills to be self-sufficient.

All children need more opportunities to share their values and African-American boys even more so. This text gently, yet firmly, guides young boys and girls in exploring what it means to care, to help, to love. Repetition and engaging artwork both support the central messages. This is a text that should be shared with and enjoyed by young children throughout our communities.
