About the Author
Rex Black started in software and systems engineering before moving into software and system testing, focusing on test automation and management. In the 1990s, he started RBCS (now Rex Black, Inc.) which provides consulting and training services related to software testing, quality, development, project management, and DevOps. Rex helped found the ISTQB, served as President for four years, and contributed to much of its intellectual property. In addition, Rex helped found the ASTQB and TMMi North America. Now, Rex works as a QA Architect for Epic Game, applying 40 years of experience to help build the most amazing software testing team of his career in one of the most challenging software testing and quality domains. Rex has written numerous books in the field, including Managing the Testing Process, Advanced Software Testing: Volume I, Advanced Software Testing: Volume II, Advanced Software Testing: Volume III, Critical Testing Processes, Pragmatic Software Testing, Agile Testing Foundations, Mobile Testing, Expert Test Manager, AI and Software Testing, and Fundamentos de Prueba de Software. He has written over 30 articles; presented hundreds of papers, workshops, and seminars; and given keynotes speeches at conferences and events around the world.
Dorothy Graham (Dot) has been involved in software testing for over 50 years, since her first job at Bell Labs in the US. In the 1990s she set up Grove Consultants and was involved in the creation of a qualification for testers, helping to develop the first Foundation Syllabus. Grove (now Grove Software Testing Ltd) licenses high-quality ISTQB training material and Dot acts as an advisor. She was a facilitator at the meeting that formed ISTQB in 2001 and helped to write the first ISTQB Foundation Syllabus. Dot is co-author of a range of books including Foundations of Software Testing: ISTQB, Software Inspection, Software Test Automation, Experiences of Software Test Automation and A Journey Through Test Automation Patterns. She has also spoken at over 400 testing conferences and events worldwide, and was awarded the European Excellence Award in Software Testing in 1999 and the first ISTQB Excellence Award in Software Testing in 2012.
