Paperback. "I braced for impact." While snorkeling off the coast of Florida, twenty-five-year-old Carter Viss was struck by a 36-foot triple-engine boat, leaving him in the wake with mangled legs, a missing arm, and drowning in a sea of red. His parents canceled Thanksgiving Day plans at their Colorado home and boarded a red-eye flight, not knowing if their son would be alive in the morning.Found in the Wake is a true story of rescue, recovery, and resilience with gripping testimonies by Carter, his mom's candid reflections, and his father's raw narratives. Their perspectives weave an inspiring tale of loss, surgeries, doubt, faith, doctors, boating safety, music, dive flags, sea turtles, miracles, and forgiveness. The book serves as a catalyst to enhance ocean safety for swimmers, divers, snorkelers, and boaters alike. As Carter put it soon after his breathing tube was removed, "I can have more impact now than before the accident."
