Mit rund 3,6 Milliarden Hektar sind ca. 29 Prozent der Landoberfläche mit Laub- und Nadelbäume bedeckt (SCHENK, W. / SCHLIEPHAKE 2005, S. 391), der Anteil in Deutschland liegt bei rund 31 Prozent (BMELV 2009a, S. 5). Seit Jahrhunderten nutzt der Mensch den Wald, vor allem durch die Verwendung der Ressource Holz als Energieträger und Baumaterial. Die ökonomische Bedeutung des Waldes machen folgende Zahlen deutlich: Im Jahr 2008 erwirtschaftete der Holzsektor rund 168 Milliarden Euro und beschäftigte ca. 1,2 Millionen Menschen in Deutschland (ebd. 2009a, S. 5). Der Wert des Waldes geht allerdings weit über die anthropogene ¿Ausbeutung¿ hinaus, denn er erfüllt viele ¿wichtige Funktionen für den gesamten Landschaftshaushalt¿ (HOFMEISTER 1997, S. 251). Das Konzept der Funktionen des Waldes (ZUNDEL 1990 in SCHENK / SCHLIEPHAKE 2005, S. 393) weist ihm neben den Nutzfunktionen, die Erholungs- und Schutzfunktionen zu. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die hohe Bedeutung des Waldes hinsichtlich des Boden-, Wasser- und Klimaschutzes, der Grundwasserneubildung, der Filter- und Pufferwirkung sowie der Bereitstellung von Erholungsraum für den Menschen. Trotz der beachtlichen makroökonomischen Zahlen (siehe oben) kommen den Schutzfunktionen in dicht besiedelten und hochindustrialisierten Ländern wie Deutschland eine besondere Rolle zu (BMELV 2009a, S. 5). Inwieweit die Wälder diese Funktionen erfüllen können, hängt von deren Gesundheitszustand ab. Die Vitalität der Waldbäume bzw. der Waldzustand ¿wird nicht von einem isolierten Faktor, sondern [von] der Summe aller auf das Waldökosystem einwirkenden Umweltfaktoren beeinträchtigt¿ (MLUV / SENSTADT BERLIN 2004b, S. 8). Zum Einen sind dies natürliche Einflüsse, wie Witterung, Samenbildung und Schadorganismen. Zum Anderen sind es die anthropogen verursachten Einflüsse, die in erheblichem Maße auf das Ökosystem Wald einwirken und die ökologischen, ökonomischen, sozialen und kulturellen Funktionsweisen beeinträchtigen können (LWF 2004, S. 39), wobei die vom Menschen verursachten Luftverunreinigungen die Hauptgefahr darstellen (HOFMEISTER 1997, S. 254).

You may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us or Buchpark, Unit B, Enterprise House, Waldeck Road, SL6 8BR, Maidenhead, Berkshire, United Kingdom, +49 03381 79 76 585, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
