Ex-library. Book is in excellent condition. It remains a highly revered, foundational reference volume within the forestry community. Prepared under the direction of the Society of American Foresters, this text aggregates essential field data, math tables, and ecological principles. Modern professionals note that while specific computing tools and chemical treatments have changed, the fundamental engineering, log rules, and math formulas remain perfectly accurate. All-in-One Format: A dense "one-stop-shop" that compresses massive amounts of field tables, silviculture principles, and forest dynamics into a single accessible hardcover. Historical Reference: Reviewers heavily value it as a legacy troubleshooting volume when modern digital resources lack historical background context on regional timber boundaries or older math charts. Heavy book.
