Hardback, approx 7 x 4.5 inches. In full calf leather binding, gilt line paneled boards, raised and gilt banding to spine. Speckled page edges. In very good condition. Cover with some rubbing and marks, corners bumped, a couple of chips to corners and bottom edge and end of spine. Small chip/worm-hole to bottom corner of front endpaper and also to rear endpaper and last couple of pages. Previous owners inscription to rear endpaper ?John Stevens, His Book, June 17. 1759.? Some occasional handling marks and minor light foxing spots, small faint water stain to page edges, and top inner corner of rear endpapers. Minor dark spot to corner of p1&2, some minor soiling to margins of p51-56. Else a very good rare 1st edition. ix + 215pp. + 1pp advert at rear. With decorative headpieces to Preface, Contents and p1 & 2. And decorative letterpieces to Preface and p1&2. In both English and French.
