The Lotus-Born Guru in India explores the sacred sites where Guru Padmasambhava’s activities unfolded. Closely following Orgyen Lingpa’s Pema Kathang: The Chronicles of Padma―one of the single most important treasure biographies of Guru Padmasambhava―these narratives are interwoven with rare accounts and visions from realized Tibetan masters such as Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa and Jamyang Khyentsé Chökyi Lodrö.
The Lotus-Born Guru in India offers a translation of Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo’s summary prayer of the Pema Kathang, along with teachings by the contemporary Tibetan masters Neten Chokling Rinpoché and Phakchok Rinpoché. You will also find a collection of essential supplications and prayers―in both English and Tibetan―and beautifully rendered paintings to guide and inspire your journey into this miraculous world.
The Lotus-Born Guru in India is the second of a three-part series tracing the arc of Guru Padmasambhava’s journey across the ages and landscapes of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. Lhasey Lotsawa has collected some of the most treasured stories from these sacred places, and presents it here as an authentic source of wisdom and inspiration. These books are essential companions for anyone who wishes to truly follow in the footsteps of the Lotus-Born Guru.

About the Author
Samye Translations is a growing team of young translators, editors, and writers working under the guidance of Kyapjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoché and Phakchok Rinpoché.
Neten Chokling Rinpoche was born in 1973 to a humble family in Wandipodzong, central Bhutan. Rinpoche was recognized and enthroned at the age of seven as the Fourth Neten Chokling Rinpoche by both His Holiness the Sixteenth Karmapa and Kyapjé Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, from whom he received many teachings and transmissions. Renowned as an accomplished practitioner, Rinpoche is the spiritual head of the Pema Ewam Chögar Gyurme Ling Monastery in Bir, India. Rinpoche spends most of his time in retreat, oversees many Vajrayana practices, gives teachings and works as a film director.
Phakchok Rinpoche was born in 1981 to Kyapjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoché and his wife Dechen Paldron. Rinpoche was recognized at a young age as the seventh Phakchok Rinpoché, an incarnation of a great teacher and meditation master. Receiving ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Rinpoche received a thorough education and training in Buddhist philosophy and meditation, studying with some of the most accomplished masters of modern times, his main teachers being his grandfather Kyapjé Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and Kyapjé Nyoshul Khen Rinpoché. Rinpoché completed his education at the Dzongsar Institute of Advanced Buddhist Studies in Bir, India, where he received the Khenpo title. Rinpoche travels the world, teaching in Buddhist centers, universities, and monasteries from Asia to the US, from South America to Europe.
