A recounting of a November 21, 1942 football game between Syracuse University and Rutgers (Syracuse won 12 to 7), recalling the highlights of their "sluggish" win, mentioning Barney Werner and Big Tommy Maines, among others. The letter also mentions the seniors who would not be on the time and refers to the many other players enlisting for service in the war (World War II). Scores from that season present at the top.
