"4th Edition Revised and Enlarged" 1950, toning with light soiling to edges of text block - light soiling/foxing to first/last 4 pages (end papers) of book - 2" split to paper covering to upper end of gutter between front paste-down and front free end paper, binding not affected just the paper split - 5 pages were bound in crooked/slanted with the loss of a few words to top of page 39, dj now enclosed in mylar wrap shows edge wear, toning, soiling and a few scattered stains - 3/8" tear top right edge, 23/4" tear from spine across upper left and 11/2" wide x 3/4" tall scuff probably from sticker removal to upper right of front panel - 11/8" tear to top center, 21/4" tear from fold down upper left with associated 21/4" and 41/2" creases to rear panel - 21/8" wide x 1/4" deep piece missing with 21/2" tear to top edge and 15/8" wide x 1/4" deep piece missing with 2 associated 3/8" tears to bottom edge of spine - 1/2" wide x 1/4" deep piece missing to top, 5/8" tall x 3/16" wide piece missing along center and a small chip to bottom of fold rear panel to flap - 3/8" wide x 5/8" deep piece missing to top, a number of short tears from center down and 1/4" wide x 3/8" deep piece missing to bottom of fold front panel to flap, illustrated with line drawings, 5 black & white photographs and 3 color plates of patterns, enclosed is a photo copy of 2 newspaper announcements of the Author's death with memories of his life.
