Beyond a mere dictionary of floral meanings, this book explores the cultural significance of flowers in Victorian society. It delves into the etiquette of gifting flowers, the art of composing tussie-mussies (small bouquets), and the role of flowers in literature and art. Ultimately, this book invites readers to rediscover the enchanting language of flowers, a timeless form of expression that speaks to the depths of human emotions. By understanding the symbolic meanings behind each bloom, we can appreciate the profound messages conveyed through the simple act of giving or receiving flowers. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
