About the Author: John Faulkner is a resident of the Isle of Wight. Watching from the kitchen window of his childhood home at Wootton he would wait for the graceful ocean liners to pass along the Solent but, as he often missed them, more time was spent watching the ferries arriving at and departing from nearby Fishbourne. As time progressed and the ferries were replaced John's interests in the history of the service grew and his research has uncovered much more of interest about the Fishbourne ferry than he had ever realised.
