You will humor the fact that this book is not a “how-to” be a great fisherman! In fact, it could be a “how-NOT-to” guide to fishing fame! But it is ‘breaming’ (pun intended) with hilarious and hazardous fish stories that will tickle your funny bone! OR make you “nervous as a house cat in a room full of rocking chairs” when you get caught in severe storms and lose complete control of the boat motor!
Most notably, you will hear the truth of Scripture as the Word of God speaks to your heart about important, everyday life lessons! The Bible is filled with fishing stories, not least among them, the invitation to become “fishers of men!” This book will hone your skills for sharing your love of Christ with others!
“Wayne’s witty way of telling fish tales is masterful and amusing! His ‘tales’ have enlightened me to the fact that fish are under God’s constant and direct leading, reminding me so much of my own personal experiences. Digging for red wiggler worms or netting minnows and crayfish for bait are familiar to rural North Carolina fishing. These tales describe a successful day not by the number of fish in the cooler but by the heartfelt memories of time spent with family and friends.
Although I usually have a fishing plan for the day, I know that the wind, muddy waters, and other anglers can change those plans. So, I find myself asking, ‘Lord, what do I need to do?’ I then become totally dependent on God for direction (just as the fish are)! As Vice President of the Carolina Fishers of Men Inshore Trail, I realize that all of my fishing success is a distinct blessing from God! Wayne and I both would like to be remembered as fishermen who loved God, loved people, and loved fishing! Thank you, Wayne, for these stories! I pray they will be as much a blessing to others as they are to me! I celebrate with you Christ’s invitation to, ‘Follow me and I will make you FISHERS OF MEN’” (Mt. 4:19). – Joseph Stephen Balazsi II, Long-Time friend and Vice President of Carolina Fishers of Men Inshore Trail
