The Fish That Laughed
Three Kings go fishing. The fish have other plans.
After surviving one unforgettable Royal dinner, King Eldorét and retired King Edward are determined to avoid another culinary catastrophe when King Merrowin of Calderreach announces another visit to Ravensdale. Their solution seems foolproof: escape the Castle for a peaceful five-day salmon fishing expedition.
What could possibly go wrong?
Everything.
Before long, the Kings find themselves outwitted by stubborn salmon, outmaneuvered by hungry bears, soaked by relentless rain, robbed by mischievous wildlife, and humiliated by a legendary fish that appears to laugh every time they fail. Meanwhile, back at Ravensdale Castle, the Queens discover the Kings have disappeared, and decide the perfect way to welcome them home is by preparing another Royal feast.
As every carefully made plan unravels in increasingly hilarious fashion, the three rulers discover that pride is no match for nature, friendship grows stronger through shared misadventures, and sometimes the stories that become legends begin with complete and utter failure.
Overflowing with laugh-out-loud comedy, unforgettable characters, gentle wisdom, heartwarming friendships, and whimsical adventure, The Fish That Laughed is a joyful cozy fantasy celebrating humility, perseverance, and the ability to laugh at yourself. Perfect for readers who enjoy magical Kingdoms, clean fantasy, noblebright fantasy, humorous adventures, and character-driven stories, this delightful tale reminds us that life's happiest memories are often born from its most spectacular disasters.
The best fishing stories aren't about the fish you catch, they're about the friends who laugh with you when you don't.
Whether you're continuing your journey through The Ravensdale Chronicles or discovering Ravensdale for the first time, The Fish That Laughed delivers a complete and thoroughly entertaining adventure while adding one of the series' funniest and most memorable legends to the living history of a Kingdom where friendship matters more than pride, laughter outlasts failure, and even Kings become the heroes of wonderfully embarrassing stories.
Return to Ravensdale and discover why fishermen still whisper about the salmon that laughed... especially whenever a King picks up a fishing rod.
