This early Elizabethan play, originally published anonymously in 1591, is a historical drama centered on the tumultuous reign of King John of England. The work includes the controversial character of the Bastard Faulconbridge and culminates with King John's death at Swinstead Abbey. Though falsely ascribed to Shakespeare, it served as a source for his later play *King John*. The text is presented in its original Early Modern English, offering insights into Elizabethan theatre and political themes. Book images are non-contractual.
