"Debbie Harrison is one of the most knowledgeable writers on investment in the market today and she communicates with great clarity. Her skills are combined in this book to provide invaluable assistance to anyone who wants, or needs, to know more about investment." - Maria Scott, Personal Finance Editor, The Observer.
"Debbie Harrison combines an insider's knowledge of investment with an outsider's ability to judge and explain. This is a book for all those daunted by mindless jargon and who are afraid of the unknown."-Jane Martinson, Investment Correspondent, Financial Times.
"First Time Investor carries all of the Debbie Harrison hallmarks. Precise and clear for the novice, whilst still containing enough for the investor who has a lot more knowledge. Debbie's books are always worth keeping close by for reference."-Simon Philip, Partner, Arthur Andersen. "This excellent book puts investment firmly in the context of overall financial planning, which is as it should be."-David Norton FCA, ATII,FIFP, CFP, President, The Institute of Financial Planning.
"Buying this book is itself a great investment and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. It should be read from cover to cover beforemaking any decisions about your personal finances. This is the sort of book which empowers the private investor to make the sort ofdecisions which are going to prove profitable for them in the long term."-Lawrence Gosling, Editor-in-Chief, Bloomberg Money and Editor of Investment Week.
"It is not as simple to get involved with shares as it is to buy a lottery ticket, though the returns are generally much better. It can be hard to know where to start and difficult to understand the strange terms that financial people use. So, as a first step, read this book. It is a truly definitive and understandable guide." Angela Knight, Chief Executive, The Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers.
