Some stories do not arrive with noise. They come quietly... like the first rain on a hill. The First Rain on the Hill is a deeply moving collection of short stories drawn from life as it is lived, unnoticed, uncelebrated, yet quietly profound. Set across the familiar landscapes of Kerala, small towns, hospital corridors, classrooms, narrow streets, and humble homes, these stories capture moments that pass quickly... but never truly leave. These are not stories of heroes. They are stories of people... like the ones you have known all your life. Within these pages, you will meet: A father whose love is never spoken... but always feltA neighbour who becomes a memory long before you realise itA doctor who discovers that life teaches more than any textbookA man who finds meaning not in success... but in staying And moments that change everything... without warning. There are stories of childhood...of mothers and teachers...of Onam mornings and Christmas nights...of mistakes, misunderstandings, and quiet redemption. What if the most important lessons in life are the ones no one ever teaches you? What if the people you overlooked were the ones who shaped you the most? Written in simple, deeply human language, these stories do not try to impress. They try to remind. You may read them in a few minutes. But somewhere... in a quiet moment...they will return to you. Because some stories do not end when you close the book. They stay... like a memory you didn't know you were holding.
