Half title + xvi (inc Title page) + subscription copy page + xvi (inc Title page) + map of Parish + 286 pages + another plate opposite page 123. Condition; Looks like the original basic printers/publishers binding, with print on labels to spine ( possibly rebound using original boards), Good with wear/ageing. Size approx 26 x 19cm. Contents mostly Very Good, clean & tight. Inside cover is a decorative bookplate. The odd minor fox dots to a few pages front/rear, edge tear to one page, There are 3 plates, though map and coat-of-arms are both modern facsimile tipped in at spine. It states this was published by subscription of only 98 copies, this is an unnumbered copy. The subscribers list only lists 72 people. Tombland which is part Norwich was called the land of St Michaels c1300, it was later changed to Tombland, or many variations through time including Tombelond, Thomelond, Tomlond, Tomland, Le Thomelond to name a few through the ages, before 1066 stood a palace of Saxon earls, from 1300 housed & owned by a Priory. From a quick net check this title is very rare to find for sale today with no original copies for sale on the net, but many in Libraries/institutions around the world. To Sum up an original 1891 copy in Very good condition (with 2 modern facsimile plates) and with under 100 copies published will always remain a rare item to find for sale. Seller Inventory # 003627
