Synopsis:

A person may be wealthy, popular, and well-connected – but what happens when such an individual comes up against others of the same stature?

Some people may go to extraordinary lengths, far beyond what most could imagine, to help someone in serious trouble. Yet, when faced with a defining moment, there is always a limit – something they will not do, even when the stakes are at their highest.

There are circumstances where the deeply religious and the worldly find their lives unexpectedly intertwined, revealing the complexities and contradictions of human nature.

About the Author:

Jonathan J.G. Lewin was born in Hammersmith, London, on 19th August 1953. He spent his early years in Little Venice before moving to Fleet, Hampshire (1960–1971), Solihull, West Midlands (1971–1976), and later Oxshott, Surrey, where his parents settled. A lifelong Londoner since 1975, he dedicated his career to the Civil Service, retiring in September 2015 after four decades of service. Politically centrist, he disdains extremism in all forms. Beyond his professional life, he volunteers regularly at Hampstead Heath and supports a day centre for homeless people, reflecting his commitment to community and social justice.
