A highly regarded scholarly yet accessible commentary by Peter H. Davids, a respected New Testament scholar. Davids offers a thorough, balanced exposition of 1 Peter, one of the most practical and encouraging letters in the New Testament. He emphasizes that Peter wrote to encourage Christians facing suffering and persecution, urging them to live holy lives as ?aliens and strangers? in a hostile world.ABOUT THIS COPY: This is a seventh printing published in 2003 according to the numberline on the copyright page. Dust jacket is near fine with light shelfware and some curling at the head and foot. Spine is sunned. A very solid, quite readable copy that will hold up to rigorous study. Store description
Since 2005, Shelley and Son Books has been passionate about books, and preserving their importance for current and future generations. We believe that virtue and beauty have a close relationship. By reading we gain knowledge. In knowledge we find things that inform our choices and beliefs. Therefore, as booksellers, we see that books have an aesthetic value and a heuristic value. We specialize in The Inklings, primarily "The Seven'": C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Dorothy Sayers, G. K. Chesterton, George MacDonald, Owen Barfield and Charles Williams. A sub-specialty is our significant collection of Christian Theology. But you'll also find works across the centuries, first editions, signed copies, and even modern books, too, across a broad selection of categories and genres. Customer service is of utmost importance to us, and our friendly staff is always happy to help. We assure our clients books of quality, as each copy is carefully graded and shipped with care. Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, we can be found on Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina, (just south of Asheville). We are primarily an online bookstore, but we invite you to make an appointment for an on-site visit! Shelley and Son Books is owned by Stan Shelley. …
