Add to basketMy First Book of Colours (2005) by Nadeem Zaidi Scholastic / ISBN: 9780439960625 / Condition: Used (artistically scuffed) Presenting My First Book of Colours , the tiny educational powerhouse designed to teach small humans the difference between red, blue, and ?No, that?s the sofa, stop drawing on it.? Nadeem Zaidi and Scholastic bring you an introduction to the rainbow for readers whose primary hobbies include sticky fingers, loud questions, and putting books in their mouths just to see . This particular copy reaches you via the gloriously honest emporium known as Crappy Old Books , which means it has absolutely been through some things . It is not ?as new.? It is ?as lived.? There is a difference. Inside the book, your small apprentice will discover: Bright colours, clearly labelled, ready to be confidently misidentified anyway. Cheerful pictures that say, ?Look, learning is fun!? while you say, ?Please don?t lick the yellow page.? The foundational knowledge required to progress to advanced concepts like ?matching socks? and ?this stain was once orange juice.? Inside this used copy , you may also encounter: A cover with the kind of gentle scratches and rubs that come from being dropped, dragged, loved, and occasionally sat on. Corners that are just slightly blunted, as if someone once tried to see if the book could also be used as a tiny ramp, shield, or plate. Pages that may no longer be blinding white, but now exist in a sophisticated shade best described as ?off-cream with faint hints of breakfast.? The possibility of one or two extremely light mystery smudges?nothing dramatic, just the ghost of a long-ago jam sandwich or a determined crayon attack. Think of it as pre-tested for durability by actual children . If it?s still in one piece, that?s practically a five-star review. This is not a collector?s item. This is a deployment-ready toddler tool , ideal for: Teaching colours to small people who are more interested in turning pages really fast. Being read 47 times in a row, with the same level of enthusiasm demanded on every single reading. Acting as a colourful distraction while you drink something hot and contemplate your life choices. Being pointed at, shouted at (?BLUE! RED! PURPLE-ISH!?), and occasionally weaponised in sibling disputes. Is this copy mint? Absolutely not. If you wanted mint, you wouldn?t be shopping at a place called Crappy Old Books ; you?d be buying laminated museum-grade board books no child is ever allowed to touch. What you?re getting instead is a wonderfully lived-in copy of My First Book of Colours : already broken in, already proven toddler-resistant, and fully prepared to survive another tour of duty in the toy box, nappy bag, or book basket by the sofa. Adopt this used copy. Let it teach your small human the essential life lesson that the world is full of colour?and that some of it will end up on the walls. THIS BOOK BEARS THE CRAPPY OLD BOOKS STAMP. IF THAT IS UNDESIRABLE PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS. THE STAMP MARKS WHICH IS USUALLY TO THE FRONT AND BACK INNER PAGES SAYS SOLD BY CRAPPY OLD BOOKS WITH WEB SITE URL. IT IN NO WAY DEMINISHED FROM THE READING. IF YOU WANT A PRISTINE BOOK, PLEASE FIND ANOTHER BOOK IN BETTER CONDITION SOMEWHERE ELSE.
