Before the world was shaped, before fire and ice met at the edge of creation, the ancient Finns wove stories that have endured for thousands of years.
Finnish Mythology: Exploring the Gods, Goddesses, and Creatures of Ancient Tales takes you deep into the rich and largely undiscovered world of Finland's mythological heritage. Meet Ukko, the thunder god who ruled the skies; Louhi, the fearsome witch-queen of the frozen North. Encounter the terrifying creatures that haunted Finnish forests, lakes, and dreams from the shape-shifting Näkki to the forest spirits that guarded ancient woodlands.
Drawing from the legendary Kalevala and centuries of oral tradition, this book brings the old stories to life in vivid detail. Whether you are a mythology enthusiast, a student of world religions, or simply a lover of ancient tales, this is your gateway into one of Europe's most captivating and least-explored mythological traditions.
The gods are waiting. The stories are calling.
