An American trade edition of volume two only (of six) in Sir Winston Churchill's definitive history of the origins, complete presentation of events, and ultimate end of World War II. In this installment, Sir Winston describes the fall of France, the Battle of Britain and the Blitz, conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, as well as many other world-wide events. With 22 excellent maps and drawings. --- In full salmon-red cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped Churchill facsimile signature on black cover block; spine titling in gilt and on black spine block; yellow topstain. Volume wrapped in red-orange dust jacket with black & white image of Churchill at his desk to back panel. --- A well-preserved, tightly-bound copy, lacking damages worthy of mention. The unclipped jacket ($6.00) is another story, with many tears and chips (some tape-repaired) but mostly intact and wrapped in removable mylar protector. (NOTE: Due to the weight of this item, extra shipping charges may be requested.
