About the Author
Verna G. Smith is the mother of four grown children, andserved for five years as a missionary in the Philippines. She has given spiritual directionto individuals and groups, after earning a Certificate in Spiritual Directionat San Francisco Theological Seminary.¿As school psychologist, she was particularly helpful to teachers andparents with problem children. For several years she served as staffpsychologist in a residential community for male juvenile offenders¿ These meditations share insights fromher rich spiritual journey, as she has struggled with painful childhoodmemories.¿ She also is the author of¿ "Apples of Gold,"another book of meditations.
