“Full of wisdom . . . this book will inspire teachers and make them feel less alone.” —Steve Rushin, Sports Illustrated journalist, award-winning novelist
Nothing prepares you for teaching like teaching. That’s a lesson Jill, a new teacher at Silverado School, is learning the hard way. Full of excitement and nervousness, she steps into her classroom—only to discover challenges she never imagined.
In this true-to-life tale, you’ll follow Jill’s first-year journey as a new teacher. As she learns from her mentors and grabs hold of the lifelines they throw her, you’ll also learn how to navigate difficult situations with students, parents, and coworkers.
Whether you are a veteran or a rookie in teaching, or perhaps a leader, mentor, or coach, you will find a kindred spirit in this novel. The practical advice woven throughout will give you a pathway towards growth in whatever role you have. In Finding Lifelines, you’ll discover ways to avoid the landmines of this noble profession, and you’ll be inspired to share the lessons you learn along the way. After all, we are in this together!
“Using scenarios and practical advice, Grieve and Sharos did an amazing job creating a story that will resonate with educators, no matter how long they have been in the profession.”
—Ryan Sheehy, educator, learner, author, speaker
“A beautifully penned story! Findling Lifelines is a tale we can all relate to, and the lessons revealed through the characters are invaluable and timeless.”
—Tara Martin, educator, speaker, author of Be REAL and Cannonball In
“Finding Lifelines is an extraordinary professional learning book. I found myself immersed in the story and nodding along every step of the way.”
—Allyson Apsey, elementary principal, author of Through the Lens of Serendipity
“This novel has implications and lessons for educators of today, tomorrow, and always. I felt rejuvenated and excited for what is to come in my class.”
