Paperback. Two worlds. One bond. A love that even death cannot sever. Captain Gough Veylan arrives on Nebulon 17 expecting a simple mission: eliminate a renegade and root out a traitor. Instead, he meets Orvessa-hereditary leader of the Vilkyrians-and the Seylira ignites between them: an ancient, unbreakable bond written in blood and starlight. What begins as duty becomes destiny. However, trust is a luxury they cannot afford. As betrayal festers within their ranks, Gough and Orvessa navigate intrigue and all-out war. She carries their twin daughters through devastation. He loses an arm in battle yet never releases her hand. When death finally claims him, the Phoenix itself rises-and Orvessa learns what her people have always known: dying is not so final. Through honeymoon whispers on Regal 7 and the ashes of the Varkalon home world, through loss and rebirth, this is the story of a soldier who came looking for a traitor and found, instead, his soul. Of a leader who trusted her heart against all reason. Of a love that transcends mortality itself. The Seylira does not choose. It simply knows. And what it binds, even death cannot part.
