Finding that special person is a complicated combination of timing, outside influences, core beliefs, impulses, and drives. Your chances for a successful relationship improves when you do the work that makes you into a dynamic and compatible partner. When opportunity meets preparation, it all comes together.
When my teenage children were going to high school and starting to date, I began to write this guide to help them travel through the labyrinth of love with their eyes wide open. I hoped that the difficult lessons that my husband Robert and I had learned during our then thirty years of marriage (now 45) and the subsequent changes we had gone through, could help them make intelligent choices when they were looking for a partner. It soon became obvious that I was writing it for everyone not just my kids, and especially for those who have been through tough times in their past relationships and are still looking for “The One.
”The 101 Question Compatibility Test introduces common situations that might arise as a serious partnership develops. The Answers delve into the specifics, revealing what changes or compromises you can make to maintain a long-term commitment. When you know what to expect and have a set of tools to deal with the inevitable challenges of life, you will be on your way to building a vibrant and ever evolving union.
