The book does have condition issues: mainly the rear cover has two large diagonal creases which is weakened the wrapping. The creases continue in several pages in the back - all of which seems to be caused by the original publishers binding process. Exterior wraps are quite toned, particularly on the edges and spine. Opening and closing the front cover could cause issues in the long run as the paper is brittle. Unique part about this is, despite the condition that it appears in the photos, the book was never used as a good portion of the interior pages are still uncut along the top. Even the title page could not have been photographed until it broke loose from the preceding page along the top edge (it was only still uncut with the half title page by a fraction of an inch). The pages are darkened and fairly brittle. The pieces that you see breaking free in the photos were actually part of the excess paper from the unintentional deckled edges, which were created by the sheets not quite being completely cut clean. Most of the pages cannot be utilized because so many are still uncut and after page 88 there is a small upper corner fold that holds all those pages together. We did not straightened out because we were concerned the small folds would break off. The only handwriting or markings found anywhere in the book is in the upper right corner of the front cover, where there is faint penciling of the original price. Binding is still secure but it is difficult to fully inspected since some a pages are uncut in the paper is brittle due to age and the marginal quality of the paper itself. The reason for the low condition grade is mainly because of the increase on the rear cover which carries in to several of the back pages, even though this is something that occurred when the book was made and not from abuse.
