Every theatre has ghosts. Harborlight has receipts.

Director Elliot Vale returns to Harborlight Theatre expecting ordinary tech-week chaos: missed cues, backstage drama, board politics, and one exhausted stage manager trying to keep the whole production from falling apart.

Then the prop table changes.

The knife sits on the letter mark.

The letter sits on the candle mark.

The candle sits on the key mark.

The key sits on the glass mark.

The glass sits on the gun mark.

And where the knife should be, there is a tooth.

A real one.

Twenty years earlier, young actor Adrian Bell vanished after final dress rehearsal. Harborlight called it a disappearance. The people who loved him called it a wound. Now, as opening night approaches, Elliot is pulled into a mystery the theatre has spent decades trying to keep buried.

With the help of stage manager Mara Bell, journalist Nina Cross, and former almost-love Theo Mercer, Elliot begins uncovering a history of silence, corruption, and buried truth inside the beloved community theatre that raised him.

But Harborlight protects its own stories. And some people will do anything to keep the final version from changing.

Atmospheric, emotional, and sharply theatrical, Final Dress is a queer backstage mystery about chosen family, institutional secrets, and the ghosts that remain when a community mistakes silence for loyalty.
