Item description from seller
Language: English. About The Book: "Final Appeal to the Christian Public: In Defence of the Precepts of Jesus" by Raja Ram Mohan Roy is a powerful treatise advocating for the moral teachings of Jesus over doctrinal dogma. Roy emphasizes Jesus' ethical message—compassion, truth, and love—as the true foundation of Christianity, rejecting supernatural claims and miracles. Written in response to criticism from Christian missionaries, the work promotes rational faith, moral reform, and inter-religious respect, reflecting Roy’s broader mission to harmonize reason, religion, and universal values. About The Author: Raja Ram Mohan Roy (1772–1833) was a visionary reformer and founder of the Brahmo Sabha, which evolved into the Brahmo Samaj. Regarded as the "Father of the Indian Renaissance," he campaigned against sati, child marriage, and caste oppression, while promoting women's rights and modern education. A polyglot and scholar of Sanskrit, Persian, and English, he revived Vedantic principles and supported monotheism. His social, religious, and educational reforms laid the foundation for modern India, and he served as an envoy to Britain for Mughal Emperor Akbar II.
