To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Central Statistical Office have reprinted tables from the 1951 publication Statistical Digest of War and added new text, photographs and charts. Anthony Montague Brown, Churchill's Private Secretary from 1952 to 1965, has written the foreword, and text for each chapter has been provided by Dr Peter Howlett from the London School of Economics.
