Print on Demand. This book details the extraordinary life and career of actor Frederick Warde from his beginnings in provincial theatre to his status as one of the most acclaimed Shakespearean actors of his time. Beginning at the tender age of 17, Warde's journey through the world of theatre is a chronicle of his experiences in both the triumphs and the setbacks that came with the performing life. His early days in provincial stock companies provided him with invaluable training, where he honed his craft alongside established actors and learned the intricacies of stagecraft. In his later years, he would go on to star alongside some of the greatest names in theatre, including Edwin Booth. Throughout his narrative, Warde emphasizes the importance of persistence, hard work, and dedication to one's art, values which served him well. The author provides an insightful look at the theatre world of the 19th century and the challenges and rewards that came with being an actor in that era. This is a rich and entertaining account of a life dedicated to the stage, offering a glimpse into the world of theatre in the Victorian era and the indomitable spirit of one of its most passionate advocates. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
