Amy J. Jnah, DNP, NNP-BC, is a veteran of the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, an alumna of the Marquette University School of Nursing (BSN), East Carolina University College of Nursing (MSN), and University of Alabama at Birmingham (DNP). Dr. Jnah is currently an associate professor and director of the neonatal nurse practitioner program at the East Carolina University College of Nursing. She also serves as an assistant professor (adjunct) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.Her clinical interests include hyperbilirubinemia, neonatal resuscitation, the transition to extrauterine life, and issues that affect late-preterm infants. Dr. Jnah is a master trainer for the American Academy of Pediatrics Helping Babies Breathe program, and an Instructor-Mentor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program. Her academic interests include mentoring, role modeling, and the integration of multisensory teaching innovations within distance education.Dr. Jnah has received numerous awards and honors, which include the Reserve Officer Training Corps academic scholarship (1994–1998), distinguished graduate of the East Carolina University neonatal nurse practitioner program (2007–2008), and East Carolina University Scholar-Teacher of the Year (2017–2018) award. She is an active member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), the National Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NANNP), and the Academy of Neonatal Nursing (ANN), as well as the Carolinas Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (CANNP).
