Hardback. This is the first impression of the second edition which is revised by the author and with a new foreword. A very good copy in red cloth lettered in gilt on the spine and with the top edge stained red. The dustwrapper, which is not price-clipped, shows a fair amount of wear to the edges, some soiling to the rear panel and some internally repaired tears including a large tear to the front panel. There is a neat ownership inscription at the foot of the front free end-paper but otherwise the book is clean internally. . 423 pages. Map at page 26 and large folding map at the rear.
