87 pages, spiral bound wraps, color illus., color maps, tables, appendices, further reading and sources, some damage to title page (several rough spots and small piece missing--no loss of text) The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) remains the most underdeveloped area of Pakistan. Power has gradually shifted away from the Maliks to a new breed of religious radicals who are far less committed to Pakistan. Topics covered in this book include the people (ethnicity, tribes, language, culture, history, religion), the provincial government and how it functions, the economy and development, key leaders, the economy, security issues, and other topics.
