This large booklet with a paper covering shows substantial wear to the wrapper only. The paper cover is separated along the spine but it is complete although it has separated. There is some penciled wordage along the very top of the cover and a pencil price-marking on the inside first page. Otherwise this piece is in very nice condition with the interior unmarked and the pages clean and unblemished. This is a reprint edition from 1948 and copies the original 1924 work by the author. The book features the Feather River, one of California's largest rivers and during the gold rush, one of the richest. The author has organized the book in short features', the first featuring John Bidwell and the first strike on the Feather River, stagecoach races across the Sierra's, the famous Gold Lake Stampede, and Rich Bar, where burro's packed out the nuggets.
