Buono, this book offers 192 pages of the finest prayers from both the new and the old editions of the Enchiridion of Indulgences. The Enchiridion of Indulgences is a valuable resource for understanding the Catholic Church's teaching on indulgences, which are closely tied to the concepts of penance, mercy, and spiritual growth. This document provides a structured guide to the prayers, devotions, and acts of charity that the Church recognizes as means of obtaining indulgences, either partial or plenary. One of its primary values lies in its ability to deepen the faithful's understanding of indulgences, dispelling common misconceptions that they are a form of "buying" forgiveness. Instead, the Enchiridion clarifies that indulgences are rooted in the Church's treasury of grace and serve as a means to reduce temporal punishment due to sin, provided the recipient has sincere repentance and a proper disposition. The Enchiridion fosters spiritual discipline by encouraging Catholics to engage in acts of piety, such as prayer, Scripture reading, and works of mercy. These practices not only help individuals grow in holiness but also promote a spirit of charity and unity within the Church. Perfect for pocket or purse, this booklet is ideal for anywhere, anytime prayer.
