Item description from seller
Seize ans… trop long processus dirons certains. Ce que nous contestons. This work is the culmination of a very long process initiated by Richard Vernier for the realization of his thesis (1996) and taken up in 2003 by Rainer Neumeyer who has since spared no efforts to achieve it successfully. He ensured the validation of the determination of the specimens dispersed in the numerous public or private collections of the country and carried out the statement of all the chorological information, even ecological, present on the labels. He completely revised the concept of the keys for species determination and supplemented them to also consider the species in the surrounding regions and therefore likely to appear in Switzerland as well. He raised and then solved certain thorny taxonomic problems by relying, with the help of specialists, on the most modern techniques of systematics (multicriteria morphological approach and genetic sequencing). Finally, he made a point of writing all the texts that complement this book. And all this alongside a busy professional life. A remarkable project that is crowned by the publication of this new volume in the Fauna Helvetica series. Sixteen years . some would say too long. What we dispute. 384 pp., num. figs, hardcover gr. 8 [bilingual German/French].…
