You didn't choose this parent. But you can choose what happens next.
Maybe they explode without warning. Maybe nothing you do is ever right. Maybe you walk on eggshells just to keep the peace — and feel guilty when the peace doesn't hold.
Living with a difficult parent is exhausting in a way that's hard to explain. You can't just leave. You can't make them understand. And the people around you don't quite get it — because from the outside, everything looks fine.
Here's the truth no one says out loud: You cannot fix your parent. But you absolutely can protect yourself.
Not Your Fault is a 14-day illustrated story-based program designed specifically for daughters navigating life with an unreasonable, critical, or emotionally difficult parent. Each day, a short illustrated story shows you exactly how someone like you handles a situation like yours — and then gives you one real skill to practice that day.
No theory. No victim-blaming. No "just communicate better." Real tools for a real situation.
Over 14 days, you'll learn to:- Understand why your parent behaves this way — and why it is not about you
- Regulate your emotions in the middle of a storm, not just after it
- Set boundaries that actually hold — without blowups or endless guilt
- Stop absorbing their moods as if they were your responsibility
- Build a support network and a vision for your life beyond this
- 14 illustrated daily lessons — 10–15 minutes each
- Two phases: Self-Protection → Resilience and Future Planning
- Evidence-based emotional regulation and boundary-setting techniques
- Daily skill tracking to show you how far you've come
- Written with compassion — for the version of you that is doing her best
This book is for you if you're a young woman living with or close to a parent who is critical, volatile, or emotionally overwhelming — and you're ready to stop just surviving and start building yourself back up.
You are not the problem. You are not powerless. And you are not alone.
Scroll up and start Day 1. Your peace is worth protecting.
