As they advanced, US troops uncovered major parts of the manufacturing facilities and the people associated with the engines that powered Germany's last generation of miliary aircraft: the jet fighters and bombers. He is a retired aeronautical engineering professor with a career at the University of Washington and industrial experience at The Boeing Company, all of which was focused on aircraft propulsion. He is also the son of one of the engineers who experienced the post-war turmoil, came to the US, and worked productively in the field of aviation engines. The contributing authors went through the experiences described here and documented them for historians to remember.
