Synopsis:

Medieval castles, armoured knights, dragons, and crests are among the scroll saw projects included in this pattern-filled book. The popular segmentation style, which involves applying a pattern to wood, cutting the wood according to the pattern, rounding the edges, painting the pieces, and gluing them back into position on a plywood backing, is introduced and explained in these projects. The effect of the segmentation method is that the finished pieces resemble ceramic tile and stone mosaics created by the ancient Romans. Beginner or intermediate scrollers can simplify or complicate the projects by deleting or adding pattern lines.

About the Author: Designing scroll saw mosaic patterns and pieces can be described as a passionate pastime for Frank Droege. His first love is painting, however, and over the years he has won numerous awards as a traditional painter. Frank studied under George Vail from the Haddonfield Art League and Max Gottlieb at the Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He currently paints miniature art and has recently become an award-winning artist in the field. Frank lives in Voorhees, New Jersey, with his wife and daughters.
