[Heavy set, please enquire regarding postage rates before ordering] Charmingly illustrated and comprehensive decriptions of English wildflowers by Frederick Edward Hulme (1841 - 1909), artist, botanist, teacher, natural historian and Fellow of the Linnean Society. Originally issued in monthly parts from 1878 to 1884. Cloth bound volumes were issued in late 1883. Each flower is painstakingly illustrated in colour by Hulme and described in detail, including its habitat and medicinal use. There were eventually nine volumes, the last of which was published posthumously. This is a lovely collection of the first four volumens, however, undated.
