Bound by Relfe Brothers Limited in full polished chocolate brown calf, with 5 raised bands, black label with gilt titles to spine, and gilt decoration to compartments; gilt border to boards, board edges and dentelles with gilt armorial of Sleaford Grammar School to upper board. All edges marbled; marbled endpapers. Extremely minor rubbing to spine tail and prize bookplate to pdep. A clean, bright copy; Near Fine condition. Handsome prize binding of the origins of popular phrases from a multitude of authors including Shakespeare, George Washington and Sir Isaac Newton, with a contemporary bookplate dated 1912.
