Print on Demand. This book by 19th-century author Mrs. L. N. Fowler takes a detailed look at the human body. This book addresses a gap in the education of children and offers fun lessons on physiology to answer their many questions about the human body, including where food goes after they swallow it, why teeth sometimes hurt, and how the body heals itself after it has been cut or broken. Rich with vivid illustrations, this book covers topics such as digestion, bones, skin, heart, lungs, secretion, and the nervous system. The author presents detailed, age-appropriate explanations to concepts such as bones having ligaments and cartilage, the spine being composed of separate pieces of bone, and the heart being a fountain of life. The author also emphasizes concepts of self-care and taking care of one's body throughout the book. This book is an insightful guide for children looking to get a head start on learning about their bodies in a fun, accessible way. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Children are generally ignorant of the simplest laws which relate to their bodies, and to the functions of their minds. They are sent to school it is true, but are seldom instructed in these things there; and it is too often the case that they grow to maturity with habits which undermine their health, and bring them to an early grave; which might have been avoided if they had received preper instruction in early life.
