There's always a mystery to be found in the hot streets of Tana Ruz. The gangs call the shots in this city, propped up by corrupt officials and use of force. From the upper crust perched above it all in their mansions on Beacon Hill, down to the most destitute citizens living in the artificial barrier island of the Sands, there is strife in the largest port in southeast Alastria.

It's the edge of summer in the year 223, a particularly busy season for private investigator June Falcon. As June's cases bring him into uncomfortably close contact with Tana Ruz's underworld, it becomes increasingly apparent that power dynamics are shifting. Instability is a vulnerable thing, and the city is in danger.

June must find help from every strata of Tana Ruz society to protect what he holds dear. With the temperature rising and time running out, June discovers that he has more to lose than he thought.
