Blue-green morocco leather binding by the Rowfant Bindery. Five raised bands on the spine; the spine has browned; title, date, and the Rowfant Bindery identified in gilt on the spine. Gilt design on the front panel, and the title in gilt on a brown-leather inlay. (Not a typical Rowfant binding.) T.E.G. The pages are browned from age; some pages have ink marks which have also browned. A few illustrations have been duplicated in part on the reverse in pencil. The recto after p. 78 was the blank reverse of an illustration. This page is no longer blank; it shows the name "Nathaniel Phillips" written twice in ink, with two series of numbers: one series runs from 1 to 13; the other from 1 to 28. Also written in is "1771."
